Can I use a font that's not listed in the editor toolbar font choices?

Unfortunately the answer is no.

 

The font list is deliberately small since the choices listed are considered web-safe.  This means that you can create your pages using any of these fonts with a great amount of certainty that they will work on anyone's computer who is viewing your site.  Attempting to use other fonts could render your page indecipherable by many potential visitors.
